Our karate training provides a structured pathway for beginners and experienced students to develop fitness, confidence, discipline, coordination, self-control and practical martial arts skills.

Whether you are looking for karate for your child, an activity for your teenager, a way to improve your own fitness, or something the family can enjoy together, Shotokan Karate offers skills and benefits that can last a lifetime.

Kids Karate in Ellenbrook

Karate can offer children much more than learning how to kick and punch.

Good martial arts training encourages children to develop concentration, coordination, confidence, discipline, respect, perseverance and self-control.

Classes provide children with goals to work towards and challenges to overcome in a structured and supportive environment.

Students learn that improvement comes through regular practice, listening, effort and persistence — lessons that can be valuable both inside and outside the dojo.

Karate for Teenagers

The teenage years bring new physical, social and personal challenges.

Shotokan Karate gives teenagers an opportunity to improve fitness, strength, coordination and martial arts skills while developing confidence, resilience and personal responsibility.

Students can progress through the grading system, work towards increasingly challenging goals and ultimately pursue advanced grades, competition, leadership and instructor-development opportunities where appropriate.

Adult Karate

You don’t need previous martial arts experience to begin karate.

Adults start training for many different reasons: fitness, self-defence, stress relief, personal development, learning a new skill or simply doing something challenging and enjoyable.

Traditional Shotokan Karate can be practised progressively, allowing students to develop their abilities over time.

Whether you are starting at 18, 30, 40, 50 or beyond, being a beginner is simply the first stage of learning.

Train Together – Family Karate

One of the unusual advantages of karate is that it can become a lifelong family activity.

Parents and children can share an interest, practise together and encourage each other’s progress while each student develops at their own level.

Instead of always watching from the sidelines, parents may have the opportunity to begin their own martial arts journey.

Karate for teens in Perth – focused head punch drill building confidence and technique

Shotokan is one of the world’s best-known styles of Japanese karate.

Training develops fundamental techniques through kihon (basics), kata (forms) and kumite (partner training).

Students progressively develop posture, balance, movement, timing, coordination, technique and control.

But karate training is about more than physical ability.

Consistent practice also encourages patience, perseverance, respect, concentration and the willingness to keep improving.

Karate and Self-Defence

Effective self-defence involves more than physical techniques.

Awareness, avoidance, confidence, decision-making, boundary setting and knowing when to seek help are also important elements of personal safety.

Karate training develops physical skills progressively while encouraging students to use judgement, restraint and appropriate control.

Karate for Beginners

Never trained before? That’s completely normal. Every black belt began as a beginner.

New students are introduced to karate progressively rather than being expected to already understand the techniques, terminology or traditions.

You will learn step by step while developing your fitness, coordination and confidence.
